Spit Pit Music (Volume 1)
Spit Pit Music (Vol. 1) is a compilation album featuring the various members of The Spit Pit.
The compilation features some of the earliest collaborations under the Spit Pit Music imprint such as Another Step Closer and Take Your Girl.
It also features some songs that eventually made it onto the 2010 album Dust Gatherers, however, as Vol. 1 is an earlier release, you will find the sound quality does differ a little. Songs for Dust Gatherers were eventually remastered whereas Spit Pit Music (Vol. 1) was left at the quality it had at the time of it's release.
Notable producers on the album were Ansane, SINIMA, Shadowville and the first use of production by Oskar Mike.
Spit Pit Music (Vol. 1) sees Sneek only featuring on one song as he was the least active among the Spit Pit team at the time. Although he was also working on new solo music in 2010, it would take until 2012 before Sneek would collaborate with Krafty again.
Diss Tracks
Having already built up a bit of momentum for their album The Coalition, Krafty & 3sixT found themselves in a war of words between a number of artists in the SoundClick community. The beef stemmed from the use of the name The Coalition, which was also being promoted as a rap group. In true Hip-Hop spirit, songs dissing members of The Spit Pit began to surface and both sides went back and forth with their insults. Two of their diss tracks, 'Still Want Some' & 'Idol' made it onto the compilation album along with two parody skits, dissing a member of the opposing group.
Other Songs
Songs which didn't make it onto this project are U Don't Know Me, It Doesn't Matter, Slut and Better Days.
